Hi JP

I started installing the Alexa toolbar on some of the PCs of staff here at TradingPartners and have noticed our Alexa rank jump from about 1.6 million to about 280,000 over 2 or 3 months. You have to be careful interpreting these numbers; I'm sure I've read somewhere that Alexa themselves say that anything below 100,000th is not really statistically significant.

For me the most powerful part of your analysis is that even the biggest player in our space is still ranked only about 200,000 which is still negligible in internet terms. Compare this with Salesforce.com whose rank today is 1,389 and it's immediately clear how much higher in the popular consciousness Sales is than Sourcing. And you'll see how far we still have to go as an industry to catch up!!

All the best
