PwC is proposing an online tool to benchmark a purchasing function through 39 criteria. Collecting data – to complete this benchmark – is announced to require 4 to 6 hours. This benchmarking tool is part of PwC’s Global Best Practices Knowledge base.

Compare performance with other companies by using this quantitative diagnostic tool created to evaluate the purchasing function. The tool examines 39 performance measures in 4 key areas:

  • Cost. Compare a series of cost measures beginning with the total cost of the purchasing department down to the cost of each purchase order.
  • Supplier base. Review methods used for evaluating suppliers, as well as effective ways to communicate with your supplier base.
  • Procurement cards (p-cards) and requisitions. Examine the utilization of p-card programs and purchase requisitions.
  • Systems. Gain insight on purchasing tasks that are automated by your systems, as compared with other organizations.

You can access this purchasing  benchmarking tool here.
